converter issue =8-0
I got this customer truck, 2003 6.0, it smokes cold the first 1-2 minutes blue and runs a little rough, then the engine runs fine. Buzztest passed, cyilinderbalance is ok.
It has a significant grinding noise I think a converter problem.
The glow plugs only come on briefly as it shows 200°F EOT when engine is cold.
how can such damage occur to the housing?

Thank you, but how would a foreign object get there? Directly in front is the engine oil pan? Has someone perhaps tried to loosen the converter from the flexplate via this hole in the converter housing and caused the damage to the housing? When I put load on the converter (brake pedal and accelerator pedal pushed at the same time), the noise disappears. I have the truck prepared tomorrow so that I can make a test drive....
