So I started putting my new up pipes together and noticed this gouge in the sealing face that goes to the manifold. Looks to me like an exhaust leak waiting to happen. What y’all think, use em, send em back, or some other fix?
Thanks
Chad

Is that manifold side or turbo side, I would probably try to buff it out, many aftermarket uppies need some love before install
That would probably depend on where I got them and how much I paid for them. If they were hey premium part from a reputable supplier at a premium price I send them back. If it was anv eBay no-name knockoff that only cost me fifty bucks, I would probably just try buffing it out because whatever replacement they send likely wouldn't be much better

I don’t know how reputable they are but the are Diesel Site pipes from Cncfab. I could probably send them back no issues. But I need my truck! So I gave them a little TLC with a drimmel and some sand paper.

it didn’t look so far in the the channel that is must likely what I would do , but keep that pick and I might even send it to them just to cover you ****!
Both sides needed a little work. I expected more for the price!
Some of my purchase experiences with Diesel Site have left a lot to be desired as well.
I bought a Max AC Assist and it didn't close properly. They continually insisted my vacuum pump was failing.
Many years later I have the same vacuum pump closing the Ranger/Excursion coolant valve just fine. Also locks and unlocks the hubs and changes the blower vent fine as well.
I had bought two products from them before that in the past and they seemed overpriced, but worked well enough.
The Max AC Assist was smashed and thrown in the trash so no one else would suffer the disappointment of it.
That was the last part I bought from Diesel Site. Many other FTE'rs have had many good experiences with Diesel Site though, so perhaps they focus their attention on transmissions and HPOP's.
Live and learn sir.
I too would have smoothed the imperfection out as well and rolled with it. It should not have been there, but sometimes that is the price we pay, in addition to the financial cost.
Looking good so far, I saw your post with a table of parts.
Sorry again for the rookie question, I’m not used to having to remachine brand new parts.
You shouldn't have to. Someone in the supply chain for that part didn't exercise due care before it got to you. If I were you, I would send that pic to CNC to let them know your QC concerns. Let them know what you did to rectify the defect too.

If you don’t tell them then they will not know and can’t follow up with their supplier. I’m a QC guy by trade and have been for most all my working life. Basic ideal of QC, you have to know about the problem to address it. Knowledge is powerful if used correctly.

I agree 💯 %. I plan on getting ahold of CNC next week and sending them the pic. I honestly would have sent them back if I didn’t need my truck.
