Looks like around $38,000 gets an off road equipped all wheel drive 4x4 Maverick with a power tilt sun roof, mostly loaded package with 2L turbo motor. Think it is Exhaust manifold in head designed like the 2.7L. My thought is don't tune it just add Octane boost like Boostane, to it when planning an offroad 4x4'n day or 2 !
Pick-up trucks in America are getting almost grotesquely big. And that’s not just us Brits saying so as outsiders who don’t live with the different scale of things across the pond - you’ll find plenty of US motoring journalists decrying the supersizing of even supposed ‘smaller’ trucks. They take up an obscene amount of room, have a voracious appetite for fuel, and their worryingly lofty front-ends are a pedestrian safety disaster. (Sounds like a Lawyer venting to me !)
I can offer that I do not give a crap about what a news guy from the UK thinks !
PapaT ... did you see the availability of the 400w electric? Cost a bit, but you get power outlets in the bed for the 'crew'. A smaller inverter (100W?)is available, but only power outlet is in the back seat from what I have seen online/read.

Think All I need is the Loaded Lariat in this Maverick/Bronco 4x4 wheelbase for fun with the Lil Woman and Grand babies to let her bop around to the Nature Parks + The Sports stuff they want to do / Haul Coolers Back packs and all that stuff ! If we only did the expressways think the Hybrid 2wd fwd would be just fine, just not my needs for the lil guy !
Funny how the Bronco II looked like it would fall over on a corner, and was based on ranger. I hope Maverick has a wider stance. I do like the look of the unibody. The Explorer pickups just looked plain stupid to me with the Cinderella coach cabs. JMO Not that I wouldn't mind an Explorer Adrenaline in my garage.
Can guess Hub Centrics or offset rims are gonna follow shortly as these Lil Guys get built. Yep 2-3" wider stance for each corner is a no brainer with these lil guys for stability. 4_6" wider wheel base puts it cornering great is my thoughts with a great Stability Bar and Links ! Heck my 150's like the wider wheel base when handling. They got their SWAG Lil guys with a wide wheel base, well thas a no brainer ! Saw a 3500 Ram Dually today with fronts and rear duals - 4x4 sticking out past the body 3" even these like a SWAG !
Looks like the bed is ringing in at 4'6", thas gonna haul a lot of stuff a family needs. Not a group of ground contact 4x4'sx12' without a lil help but still !
Think S.C. Some Southern States have a law that all things have to be covered up! Maybe wrap them with shopping bags ! Think an overhead rack would work well with Maverick, lifted, Overload springs also !
For me, while I love my F150, I am tired of being relegated to the driveway because the 2018 F150 is large and in combination with a 2021 Nissan Murano it is too large for the garage if people and bags are moving around. The Maverick and Murano will coexist easily in the garage away from bird and inscect droppings.
I'd still go with the Ranger or F150 myself. Can't afford either though. I was hoping the Maverick was going to be more like a modern Ranchero, a vehicle I think would sell again.
Since it is pushing near 30 mpg with a tail wind and most my mileage is express/I-state is very attractive lil runner for us. Need to drive it though for comfort test. Thas seat has got to be good. No squirming !
Every comment I have read on seating reports comfortable and roomy accomodations. I *know* it has to better than the on-the-floor seats in wifes T-bird. Hate that thing.
Many reporters or wannabees seem to be 6-foot-plus. One test had a quad of six-footers in the vehicle and all seemed comfortable with leg/knee room.
I'm closer to average at 5'10" on a good day, so really am not concerned. The reports indicate also there is more room than in the latest model Ranger...... and my 6'2"-ish little brother is comfortable in the Tremor model he has. He did a MD-CO-MD trip pulling a pop-up and was comfortable in it reportedly. May like just a bit more legroom, but he was not uncomfortable.
Real soon now. The first retail delivery has taken place in California per the Mav truck club web site, so personal reports will soon be available.
