So tires didnt fix the issue. great. welp I hope I can lemon law it or get something else then. I have an appointment next month with another dealer.maybe they will figure it out.

You made me go check it out on my 2020 XLT SCSB and if I take my hands off the wheel at speed yes it will wander to the left, I think it's compensating for the crown in the road. My cure is to not take my hands off the wheel . I've gotten used to the all electric steering but I'm not a big fan of it, I don't like it getting so touchy at speed and the wheel return is sluggish. I drove my 2013 F350 the other day for the first time this summer and I will take the old fashion hydraulic power steering .

I'm showing my age a bit now but, back when I was on a Fire Engine we got one of the new rigs... 8 computers on it and the steering was 1/2 electric..... yeah, it was power actuated and the steering wheel had hydraulic input to the left front wheel, while the right one was electronically actuated. In the dry it was ok...kinda like over-boosted power steering, but in the rain, with oil slick streets....holy crap.... those 2 wheels constantly fought each other the minute you turned the steering wheel.... on a tighter turn (45 degrees plus) it was like the front end was actually hopping...... my engineer eventually got use to it....I drove it a couple of times.... yeah, reported it to fleet maintenance and the mfg just said "That's normal".....

Nothing like feeling your on a "pogo stick" in a rig that weighs 15+ tons!!!!!

Like I said I'm not a fan of the electric steering but with electric vehicles comming we will have to get used to it like it or not but they can back off the sensitivity at higher speeds. My truck has 30.2K miles on it and the front tires are wearing perfect so it's not the alignment.

so im going to try to do something after i make them recheck it again lol...

im going go get me a forscan set up and SHUT OFF road crown compensation and see how it goes

Take to a dedicated alignment shop or an independent shop with their own alignment rack. Ask if the can add about 1/2-1 degree of caster. Why bother fighting with the dealer over it when they can’t handle it.

different dealer. covered under a complaint and warranty from ford at this point

Update on my saga

I finally had the time to get the truck to another dealer. The last dealer I stopped going to in august cause they SUCK. How can the service manager take a test drive with me in the truck, I let go of the wheel and it pulls into the middle of the road and claim thats normal??

The new dealer had my truck for a solid week and a half. Called me after 1 day and was like "oh all fixed, come get it" I asked if they were sure lol and the writer said he would make sure and to give them some more time and didnt call me back. I let it be since I have a company car anyways and could live without the truck for a week

End result is they did the cam phaser recall while there and corrected the alignment. I would have liked the alignment sheet, but they didnt include it. The truck now does not pull really. The electric power steering does make it oddly go one way or the other sometimes, but that I can live with. What Is off is the wheel to the left about 1/8 of a turn-but at this point thats something I can easily do myself. I dont feel like going back nor have the time. Its a shame, i REALLY wanted to put a level kit on it as the payload package makes it sit like a cat in heat-but after this debacle Im thinking twice. There are heavy duty alignment shops I know if I might give a shot if I ever do it though.

What's amazing, the other dealer gave me every single alignment sheet. All of them show the truck is in spec and aligned properly, yet the truck drove terribly and pulled. Anyone who took it out for a test drive could see. My best guess since I dont have the alignment sheet from the new dealer-they adjusted the caster and camber to push the drivers front wheel a bit forward to counteract what it was doing. Most places simply adjust the toe and call it good-here is a textbook example of why you cant always do that. Keep in mind just cause its a dealer whom specializes in repairing your particular car-dont always mean they know wtf they are doing!

I am also positive the stock junk goodyear adventure tires even though they are C rated and 50psi max are pumped up too much for this truck at recommended 40psi. Willing to bet if I swapped to E rated it would feel more planted at 40psi since max pressure is 80. I had similar issues with a vehicle being a bit squirrelly on P metric tires on a heavy duty 1/2 ton GMC. Put E rated on there..totally different feel

Just think-if they didnt strive for mpg and all this bull**** stuff they think people want-we would still have steering boxes and torsion bars which for an IFS type setup is much more robust-but rides harder is the complaint. Lane keep assist, pre-collision crap, etc, etc. I get it on a fancy car, but a truck..sigh I guess they want to be competitive.

Bottom line, if prices do ever come back down to pre-covid levels I dont think Ill keep it, a super duty or a 2500HD GM or maybe even a tundra is in my future b/c of the simplicity and what they offer. The I went with the F150 b/c of the 3.5L Ecoboost and it dont disappoint in that manner, but man this elec power steering sure is a junk. Im sure in another 5 years they come out with a TSB and a calibration fix for 100%.. you know they would never admit there is an issue lol

Frustrating as heck and I give you props for patience, I'd be out of that asap and wouldn't be back in a Ford. Not that they're junk, I love every one I've ever owned, but sometimes you just gotta get the heck out of Dodge (no pun intended) and move on. You know for sure that your local Ford dealers are garbage and if you need anything else with a Ford that takes some digging you'll be right back in the same place. Thanks for the follow-up

Yea real shame for sure.

I had the chance when I got this truck to go after a brand new diesel 6.7L 250/350 or a GM 3/4 ton but decided why did I need that much truck. there is something to be said about old school simplicity sometimes.

I found theere is a guy in maryland whom had 2 different f150s (ironically the 2nd one was a lemon buy back replacement) that did this very same thing. he has a class action lawsuit going against for for it. im sure they know this is an issue
