Need help with no start.
This is my first question post. My '92 4.9 2wd will not kick over. Let me say first that I am a driveway mechanic and a parts replacer, mostly. My truck was neglected for the last eleven years as a daily driver so I am not ashamed to say that I have replaced most of the ignition parts for varying reasons and still nothing. ECM, ICM, Coil, Battery, Plugs, Wires, MAF, Fuel Pressure Regulator, Distributor with Cap and Rotor. I am confident that I found BTDC 10* but still turns over and depending on how the timing is adjusted it may backfire. I can hear the fuel pumps but have not checked the pressure yet. The truck has not run since last fall when it stopped while my son was driving and never kicked over again. I never knew where the town of Witts End was but I feel like I am getting closer so any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Before you replaced everything because you could have added a lot more problems doing so.
What happened to make it stop last fall?
Smell the gas, sitting does not do good for today's fuel and it may have gone bad it make it harder to start & run.

The truck started after I actually read the Haynes manual. I apparently had the rotor positioned incorrectly and once I moved it to where the book said it should be... amazingly it worked. The truck is still running pretty rough so I need to get a timing light and make sure I'm good. My son had the truck for a couple of years and unfortunately beat the heck out of it. The exhaust is broken at the converter and he never changed the oil or anything else. The computer died on me several years ago so I assumed that was the problem and started there. The cap and rotor were being held on by loose wire ties because the cap bolts snapped off in an attempt to change them and the inside of the cap was scraped up from the rotor hitting it. Is it possible that the lack of exhaust could cause it to run rough and is it possible to run the truck without a converter? I have a code reader and plan on checking them when we get back from vacation. thanks
Being you have a 92 300 six motor it is EFI and if any of the sensors are bad or missing the computer will go into "limp mode".
This mode makes it run rich and not so good only to get you to a garage to get it repaired.
Being it has a computer to make the motor run right it also can tell you a little what is wrong.
Some parts stores can read what the computer has stored that is wrong.
Now what can be an issue is getting the parts needed to fix your 30 year old truck.
As for the cat being removed if the O2 sensor is before it and nothing after it then the computer should not care.
Now if you have smog checks and dose not have a cat that could be an issue.
