i did something similar sold my 2017 f350 and bought the 2001 in sig
looking forward to turbo results! Ive been eying that turbo for myself
This was my 16. I replaced it with a 19 single wheel but that one was in the shop 3 times before it had 10k on it. I was so unimpressed with the 19 I don’t even have a pic of it. I have been a die hard Chevy guy all my life but facts are facts. The only truck that has held up is my old 7.3.

I was a chevy guy to once. I bought the 5.7 diesel I believe it was and two 6.2 diesels from them way back when. All three nothing but problems with them. The small block was the best be leave it or not. The 6.2 had head problems up the a--, and one on the way home from the dealer froze the crank to the bearing because the heads were off so many times. But to be fair, the first 6.9 I bought had a oil cooler go out at 10K. I wasn't to happy.
Chevy has done so many things the last 10 years to disappoint me. But that sexy brown dually burning to the ground, at 36k miles, broke my heart. I was no kidding In love with her, she was the truck I had dreamed of for years. That was in 2019 and I'm still emotional when I think about it.
Welcome to FTE those are some nice looking trucks. Sorry to read about your 2016 Chevy 3500 burning down those trucks are nice. Will follow your thread and see these guys turn you into a mod junkie.
Chad, how did you arrive to your FTE member name? Is it a nickname of some sort or just something you smiled about when asked to create one.
Great thread so far and it has a lot of potential to be even better as the days go on.
It's kinda funny story. I worked with an old Mexican fellow years ago that pronounced his sh and ch backwards. So Chad turned into shad. One of my buddies, giving him a hard time, asked if he even knew what a shad was. His reply was " yea one of those little buildings behind your house you keep tools and stuff in". So now there is an entire room full of guys rolling on the floor. We explained to him, No, that's a shed. A shad is a little minnow you use for fish bait. Some how Fish Bait stuck. Fast forward a few month to a big fishing trip a bunch of us took. I had one of those trips where I could do no wrong, caught fish like they were in a bucket, making my buddies look like chumps. We get back to work and are talking about the trip when a comment was made, by someone that didn't go, about them needing to start calling me The Fish Bait instead. It was pretty comical. Kinda long winded but that's how I got my nickname.

That is a funny story and now we know. Thanks for sharing it with us and for the laughs.
