So I traded in my 2018 6.2 for a 2015 6.7 dually. On the test drive the upper intercooler hose blew due to some idiot thinking a zip tie would hold. The dealer was going to fix it before I picked it up. I work for a Lincoln dealer in parts so I looked up the factory part. Gave the salesman the number but their service department threw a regular clamp on it. Luckily my salesman sent me a picture and I said no fix it right or Im not buying it. He said they ordered the factory part and installed it. Picked it up today and this is what was installed. Doesnt look like the factory part unless ford updated it? Any idea where this is from or if its even correct?
The aftermarket CAC kits do not use the radiator style hose clamps. I do not remember what my stock CAC clamps looked like but highly suspect they are similar to the clamps that came with my aftermarket kit. Personally,, I would go ahead and replace it with aftermarket CAC. The stock CAC are know to crack or burst with age.
Here is the thread where I replaced mine some years ago.
The tube looks right but the clamps don't. They should be spring clamps unless something changed. Here's mine when it blew off and stranded me on the highway and another of the replacement I installed to get me back on the road. Also, I agree with Larry. I would replace it with an aftermarket setup to avoid future issues. I run the H&S on my current truck.
