Because I received the code 1293 for the passenger side, I inspected under that VC and found a slightly separated plug so I changed that side only. Also, with my scan tool (and using Forscan) it listed the idm as a possible cause for the error 1293. So, just to make sure I do it right, to do what was suggested I just go back to the 42 pin plug and test the specific points shown? I was under the impression that getting all similar numbers for that side may have meant that changing that side gasket may have done some good.
Just FYI, At no point has the PCM sent a CHECK ENGINE light so would that make a difference?
Yes, Forscan did perform a buzz test. Bank 1(buzzed sounding off - pass side) produced the error 1293 which lead to this post. I looked into an replaced the VC gasket on the passenger side (the clip appeared separated and I didn’t want to take a chance). Cleared error codes through FOrscan and performed the test again which produced the same results. Then it was suggested to look into the 42 pin plug which produced the results above.
Best thing to do is test from the IDM plug 5o the injectors. These conductors run through the 42 pin connector. If you find an issue, go from the 42 pin to the IDM and then the injectors.
I am not saying your IDM isn't the problem, but a successful buzz test normally indicates a good IDM.
I’ve been away and unable to test. I will look for KOEO in Forscan to see if it is a different test but so far it performed a buzz test with noticeable sound difference on one side and that’s the side with code but I also can’t disregard the results from the plug...
Swaybar, carefully inspect the underside of your 42 pin on driver's side. The wires there can rub on the vc and rub through the jacket causing problems. Also how did the 9 pin pigtal look when you changed the uvch? You can get burt pins there. If so replacing the uvch might have been half of the wiring issue there.
