C4 problem

So I bought this C4 from a guy who had it in a show truck and went to a C6. He said it worked just fine.

I put it in my truck and just sitting still when I move the shifter to 1st it engages, When I put it in 2nd it engages. When I put it in Drive it is like neutral. Nothing engine will rev but no movement. I don't have the truck drivable yet but kind of wanted drive to work when I can drive it. lol

Any suggestions? Thanks

What was done to it? Is it running a full manual valve body?

Do you have R and P in the right place on your dash, might be the shifter on the trans is different than your was.

Not sure. I suspect maybe it had been redone/rebuilt but I don't know what valve body is in it. It was all painted pretty and clean so I just stuck it in the truck knowing I was taking a chance. lol

I put a Gennie Shifter in it and made sure I had the adjustments spot on to match the detents.

What was the measurement on your torque convertor spacing?

I don't remember. I set it per the manufacturers recommendation.

You didn't mention reverse or park. I know you think the shifter linkage is adjusted right. But it sounds to me like it isn't. Put the shifter in Park. Then go under the truck. Disconnect the linkage and see if you can move the tran's shift linkage farther in to park.

Thanks, I tried that the first time I realized I didn't have Drive. Yes Park works fine as does Reverse, L1 and L2.

Doing a g**gle search I found this. The gentleman said if that throttle valve is in backwards it can cause your issue as well as who he was answering.

Thanks Jeff. I will certainly check that out. Haven't had much time to work on the truck lately. Farming got in the way. lol
