I have had the engine rebuilt and bought a c6 that was freshly rebuilt
I was able to drive perfectly fine until one of the lifters broke and was able to get the engine rebuilt again for free but dropping the engine in and installing it to the transmission I cannot push the truck backwards at all.
I unlinked the shifter and manually shifted and found that P works but R-N-D-2-1 all move the truck forwards but not backwards
When i disconnect the drive shaft, the truck moves freely.

I dropped the pan and checked and the linkages are correct. I can hear it click when shifting and Park works fine.
I have the old c6 transmission that came out of the truck (worked fine before but cracked the bellhousing) and it is also doing the same thing. The tail end only spins clock wise but i have to use a lot of force to spin it counter clockwise.

If the linkage is good then it's fine... drop the drive shaft and run in your engine.
The C6 has no direct connection if the engine isn't running. So either the torque converter isn't seated and the pump is now jammed or the transmission was assembled wrong and the one way clutch is broken or bound up.
Band is too tight. They always turn harder CCW but you should be able to turn it by hand in neutral with a fair amount of resistance.
Yup... The trans hasn't even been lubed in yet. I am standing in front of my C6 now, driveshafts dropped and it's tough to roll the output shaft in reverse too... not unusual.
