Hello this is my first post here and i would like to get to know more about my truck. I have a 2016 ford f 150 with 3.5 EcoBoost. Had an engine light appear on my dash and the code pop up as p144c. So the evap canister was bad order another one, install it ran great for a week. Today the engine light appear again and its p144c code again I'm stump this is a brand new one from motorcraft i just install, any
info will be appreciated!!!
Check for leaking, split, disconnected hoses in the evap system, going all the way back to the tank. Easiest way is to have someone smoke test the evap system.
One other thing Is do NOT "top off" the fuel tank. I see people stuffing every drop of gas in the take till it actually comes up to the filler. If you have every done that you need to check for bad check valves, other wise it will keep knocking out evap canisters. I have worked in a fleet garage and saw it happen many many times. We actually assigned a fueller and he paid his own salary with the saving from repairing the fuel evap systems.
