AFE and check engine light?
So I had some spare time today and thought I would install my AFE Stage 2 pro dry and did so with ease great product IMO....within 5 miles I get a CEL? WTF? Am I understanding that it will only go away once I remove the DPF and Tune the truck? I am gonna order some tunes for my livewire this week and hope to install it all next weekend, I just thought I would install the intake since I had some free time today?????

yeah pretty common P2002 I think it is. Some have gotten it cleared and never re-appeared.
I wonder if someplace like autozone can read that one and clear it.
Bet not since it is not a generic code.

My mileage has decreased since I installed the AFE. I got the 2002 code as well. "Diesel particulate filter not operating at peak efficiency" or something along those lines. Cleared it with my Ottomind. I thought it was the tuner. I'm putting the stock air filter back in tomorrow morning and checking the mileage again.
I'm pulling my fifth wheel to Sacramento from Missouri. I'm in Rawlins, Wy at the moment. Mileage has been terrible (as high as 9 and as low as 5.9, all hand calculated between fill ups). I've run the truck with the Banks tow tuning and without the tuning. I'm getting close to the same mileage with both.

I get 7-9 mpgs towing as well. Tuners work good when running empty but they don't help when towing heavy it seems.
Light towing they do pretty good.
The air cleaner is the reason for the code.

so I have driven about 125 miles since the AFE install, and I went into regen today, had to stop at the store in the middle of the regen, came back out started truck and went on my way, guess what CEL is gone, and regen starts back up, my regen was normal lasted about 12 minutes, no excessive smoke and truck ran how it always does during a cleaning........its ok, I got my tunes from eric today so this weekend I wont have to worry about it anymore....
