Hello, late today my engine light came on my f-250 2017,6.7 with just 2000 miles..seems to be running fine, just curious if I should park it for the the weekend or drive on ?
Hard to say without knowing what code it's throwing. If you don't have a code reader then you could always take it to an autoparts store and they'll read them for you.
Did this happen soon after a fill-up? I don't know about diesels, but a loose fuel cap on a gasser can throw a code and activate the CEL. The code and CEL will usually reset once the cap is R&R'd... Might be worth a try.
Made an appointment for Monday....took a chance, had to go somewhere, drove about 100 miles.....the engine light is now off. Not sure if the code still there, but would like to know why.

Thanks,

Good news re CEL off; code should still be logged and available to an OBDII scanner.
Been all diesels for me over the last 25 years, several 7.3's that could run on anything...a 6.4 "that engine light never went off " that was a bad one..almost jumped ship but !!. This is my second 6.7 just a few water pumps and erg clogging, but I must say this new one is one powerful truck, just don't want to see lights.
It's probably nothing. I haven't had it happen in my '17 yet but my '11 and '14 would throw a CEL from time to time that would resolve on it's own. A couple of times I tracked it down to a cellphone charger and an aftermarket windshield mounted dashcam. Sometimes outside or aftermarket gadgets don't play nice with the indash electronics.
On my way to the dealer today, light came back on. service mentioned that it was going into regen to much, never really gave me a good answer why...said they checked for exhaust leaks found none and reset computer....told me to keep an eye on it....yea great...Code that came up was P2459...drove 80 miles simce they looked at it, so far no light.
