For you guys that have a Canadian built truck.
I was removing the roof insulation and when cleaning out the inner structure channels around the perimeter of the cab I found the build sheet for my truck.
It was above the rear passenger door. As found after adding a little moisture
Looks like one of the dead sea scrolls except for the perforated margin which tells us that it was run through a dot matrix printer most likely controlled by a mainframe computer. The first widely available micro computer (Apple II) wasn't on the market yet.
Wow, that's even cooler than a Marti Report.
Definitely worth taking to the local print shop and having it laminated...
Cooter was built in California but resides in Canada now...
I might just pull the headliner and have a look.
That is indeed cool! Great find and that you were able to flatten it without further damage. Perhaps placing it between two pieces of pexiglass holding the edges with several binder clips? Just a thought.
I always look for these build sheets, found for both my '91 and '87 trucks, both Canadian built. Sheets were under the bench seat tucked between the foam and steel mesh, PITA to remove without tears as the paper is quite brittle. So yours was on the roof inside the headliner? I have a '76 also, will definitely look for it as it was not under the seat (not sure if the locations are standard?). Don't know also where it is on the '90 with captain seats...
The comment about being dot matrix print, apparently this was practice well into the 90s...
