Brake pedal changes idle?!

It sounds odd but why would me pressing the brake lower my idle rpm on my 06 f350? It's only done it on cold starts so far.

The more you press the more pressure is being commanded from the power steering pump to feed the booster. A slight dip in idle speed is normal.

Are you talking about when you first start it and the engine is warming up? If so when you put your foot on the brake pedal it takes it out of high idle.

What he said. On mine, I first hear the idle rise a minute or so after starting up on a cool morning. It goes back down when it warms up or when you touch the brake like you're about to shift into gear.

That's what it does when it's cold. Goes from high idle to normal as soon as the pedal is pushed. After I've driven it that doesn't happen. Thanks guys!
