04 6.0 Wierd error codes
these codes just come right back thanks using the Forscan lite app
thank
even go as far as unhooking both of the batteries and letting it sit for an hour. Normal clearing codes and wiping the KAM
(KAM = Keep Alive Memory) should be all that you need to do and that can be done with software that you already have
with Forscan. But with the lite version you may want the laptop version as it has more power and can do a few more things.
While you have the batteries unhooked disconnect the PCM plugs and take a good look at the pins and sockets. Stop at the
auto parts store and pick up a large can of contact cleaner and then spray both sides of each connection to clean out any crap
that could of gotten in there. Next the engine harness connectors should also be looked at and cleaned.
While the batteries are off check the voltage and post that info then you should charge both of them and top the water levels off
after the charge. Before you take the caps off and charge you should clean the tops. Dust and dirt that collect on top of lead acid
batteries tends to be conductive and will draw the batteries down over time. It's just a good maintenance practice to clean every 6
months anyway. A clean battery will have a longer life in most cases.
Please report back if this solves this strangeness.
Good luck.
