DTC codes

I have a 2004 F250 6.0, I set my SGII up the other day and it now shows 3 DTC on the gauges. When I try to go and scan it says I have no codes or nothing to show. Is this normal or should I bring it to auto zone and have it read. On the gauge it shows 3DTC. Thanks

That's the "problem" that I have with my 04. I'd take it to autozone and have them scan it to see what's up.

Certainly worth a try. I suspect "DTC count" is a generic code. If the three codes in the trucks memory are not generic SG won't show them.

Please post back and let us know what you find for codes and make/model of the scanner they used if possible.

Hmm... Would have expected SG to pull those. Do you know what version your ScanGauge is? I don't remember right this minute how to get to it but it's on one of the menus.

Both codes EGR related. It would be worth a try to pull the valve and give it a good cleaning but I think the P0403 is usually a bad EGR valve.
Cleaning works sometimes if the code is for flow but those two are for the "sensor" side of the EGR valve.
Inspect the connector and wiring near the valve before swapping parts.

Here are some SG Codes for EGR (if you don't have them) You may want to see if they will read. Expected values are at the bottom of each set of codes. KO=Key on. LI=low Idle. HI=2,500rpm, OR=Operating range of the sensor you are reading.

EGR Duty Cycle (Percent)

TXD: 07E022166E

RXF: 04620516066E

RXD: 3010

MTH: 006440000000

NAM: EGR

KO=0 LI=0-15 HI=32 OR=0-44 %

EGR Valve Position (mm)

TXD: 07E022096A

RXF: 04620509066A

RXD: 3010

MTH: 000100010000

NAM: EVP

Note: EGR Valve Position in hundredths of a millimeter, where 0 mm indicates a closed EGR valve position.

EGR Valve Position Measured (%)

TXD: 07E02209FE

RXF: 0462050906FE

RXD: 3010

MTH: 00647FFF0000

NAM: EVM
Note: MEASURED EGR Valve Position, in %, where a low value indicates a closed EGR valve (0 EGR flow), and a high value indicates an open EGR valve.

KO=0 LI=0 HI=9.72 OR=0 - 14 PERCENT

EGR Valve Position (Volts 0-5)

TXD: 07E022167E

RXF: 04620516067E

RXD: 3010

MTH: 000133330000

NAM: EGV

KO=0.8 LI=0.8 -1.0 HI=1.3 OR=0.6 - 3.5 VOLT

You can save some significant bucks shopping online. Dealer can slap one in your hand. I guess it depends on your timeframe and finances.
