So I'm going to be getting some things done on the wife's Excursion and need to order some parts. The CEL has been on for a while with a glow plug code...I can clear it and it takes a couple crank ups then comes back. When I took it off you can see the issue in the plug and the module. I've read where the connector prongs on the plugs need to be spread apart. Is there a way to test the module and/or plug to see if they in fact need to be replaced?
FWIW, I did an autopsy on my failed GPCM a few years ago, and posted the results here. As you can see from this related thread, the symptom I was getting with a CEL with codes showing all for glow plugs on one side had failed.
