I am installing a new bed on my '06 F250. I got the new mounting bolts kit. My frame still has some "rubber grommets" or "bushings" from the old bed. I don't have a picture of them, but I'll post when I do. These (supposedly) act as "shock absorbers" to prevent metal-against-metal effects and maybe minimize noise. The bolt kit does not have replacements for these rubber parts. I don't know what they are actually called so I can order new ones. Anyone know what I'm talking about and how to get new ones?
Thanks for answering. But what about for the bed? Cut up a rubber mud flap and slip them between the bed and frame while bolting down?
Ha, sorry, the truck bed takes thin plastic type isolators, so I guess a mud flap could work cut down. Might not last long though or you could try these.
Any Plumbing supply house, Hardware store, or Lowes stocks a 6"*6" piece of rubber usually in the plumbing asiles. 1/8" thick and 3/16" thick are two sizes that I have seen. Get that, cut up to size......easy....peasy....
If you want to buy some, measure the outside diameter, inside diameter you want at least .562 for the M14 bolt. Here is a quick one for a 2" spacer at 1/64" thick
