Dentside Bed Mount

I have a 77/78 F-250 4x4 (more on that on a different thread) that I took the bed off shortly after I bought the truck due to it being totally shot. I ground off the bed bolts and drove them out with a punch, then had a few friends help me remove the bed without really looking to see how it was mounted. I have since purchased a solid replacement bed. I also bought from LMC P/N 40-0014 Bed Mounting Kit 73-79 Styleside. The "kit" is just a carriage bolt and a lock nut.
This is probably a dumb question, but: Should there be some kind of washer, spacer, bushing, etc, between the bed and the frame, or does the bed just bold directly to the frame?

Thanks for the help,
Steve

I've cut up rubber mud flaps to put between the bed & frame in order to even up the body lines once or twice.

May have to shim sometimes to get lines to line up with different bed.

The only time I've ever had body line alignment issues is when I have bad body mounts or a tweaked frame. I've never heard of anyone needing to shim a bed when swapping them.

Thanks for the ideas Pence and Hickory.
Hopefully the bed will line up with the cab and I won't have to do any of that.

Mine didn't sit right when I put new mounts under my cab. Had to shim the core support also when I did the box.

Gotcha pence. I'm only replacing the bed, so I hope it all lines up!
