The big problem between the two is the Bendix works with column shifters and the Saginaw is easier to modify the column with a floor shifter. My opinion is the Bendix is overpriced and a weak / underpowered box prone to failure. The Saginaw box will turn a dump truck. If you have 3 sp on the column just get a NP435 or T18 / T19 and move on.

the main problem is the frame horn will not accomodate a saginaw in this circumstance. I can trade steering columns any way I choose with current parts resources but the frame modding was not really a target especially since it is on original restoration.
