Know the Shelf Life of Diesel Exhaust Fluid - Blue Sky Diesel Exhaust Fluid
DEF has a limited shelf life typically between 1-2 years from manufacture date while stored in sealed containers. I only put about 10k miles on my truck per year and get about 7k from fill up to 500 mile warning so I try to run it to the warning light before filling. Use most of it up before it’s old. I also fill at the truck stop because it’s convenient for me and cheap. If I ran less miles per year I probably would never fill my tank just enough to get through the year. Also check the manufacture date on the container if you buy in store and don’t go through it fast.
