I have noticed that on many period fords(Mustang, Galaxie) that the door key, when unlocking the door, turns counter-clockwise. On my 65 F100 I turn the key clockwise to unlock. Did someone change out the locks and put them on the wrong side, or am I trippin?
All I know is that on my previous 59, and current 66 - regardless of driver side or passenger side, it’s turn toward engine to lock, and toward bed to unlock.
I have one of each. Driver side goes toward bed, passenger toward the engine. I got the linkage reversed on one when I changed them out. It'd be an easy fix, I just have to remember to change it.

Is it worth the time and effort? If this post had proven mine to be backwards I would not be out there changing things around, but just count it as one of those things that happen that makes each of our trucks unique.

I'll fix it one day if I'm in the door and remember. Focusing on getting the interior completed and other things though. I'm just happy it locks right now.
