My passenger side mirror will not stay where I set it. My dealer replaced the motor a few weeks ago but nothing changed. It seems to hold its position when parked but when I start driving it will slowly sag until it reaches the bottom of its travel. I'm taking it back today for a second look but the service manager seems to stumped. Has anyone else had this issue and maybe know the fix?
Be sure to set everything up the way you like them (seat, mirrors, pedals, etc.) and the press & hold one of the memory buttons until it beeps. That should keep your mirrors and everything in place.
Can you adjust it back to normal with the switch? If so I like the transient voltage idea. If not and it stays there until another restart then the passenger side door computer is having issues.
Bumps in the road seem more likely than the transient voltage theory...
That makes sense as well. We do not know if it is being driven down by the motor or just bouncing down. If they can not adjust it back up leads to a voltage problem. If they can then it might be bouncing or transient voltage. We sort of need a little more info to really help.

The problem developed slowly. At first I would notice the mirror slowly dropping over several days. I would readjust it but it would drop again over time. It didn't matter if it was parked or driving. I reset the memory several times but that had no affect. The power adjuster worked normally. After a few months of this it started dropping more quickly, like 15 minutes sometimes, mostly while driving if it happened that quickly. I did have to jump thru hoops to get Ford to do something. I had to take a picture of it from 10 or 12 angles to show it not been damaged. I even put a piece of blue tape over the mirror and over the frame, made a mark with a black marker and cut the tape between the mirror and the frame. Over a day or so the marks separated about a quarter inch. Finally Ford authorized a new motor which was installed a couple of weeks ago.
After reading one of the responses it dawned on me I had not done a memory reset since getting the new motor. I did that today when I left the dealership, drove the 45 miles home and it stayed put. I will give it a few days to see if that worked.
