A few people have recently asked about the custom seat covers from Raybuck. Mine was delivered a few weeks ago and I just got it installed. It took about 6 weeks to build and ship.
For the price (about $270ish), I think it’s a great quality piece, nice stitching, fits well and is easy to install.
Thanks for posting the picture. I was one of the people looking at the Ray Buck seat. You did a great job. How far down did you take the frame? Any broken springs because I have one broken spring in upper section and wondered on the approaches to fix it. Did you get the Ray Buck foam?
My truck is red and white also with the 3 on the tree, so seeing your 2 tone seat really helped, thanks. What vender did you get the carpet from? I am tore between the red carpet or the black floor mat (I can only find black). I think the black format might darken things up to much, so now I am leaning toward the carpet and using the white with red on the seat---
Thanks for the compliments, guys. I love how it turned out. This is a budget build for me... just trying to keep it on the road and fix stuff as I go. The cover is one of the things I “splurged” on. The foam in the truck was in decent shape so I used what I had. I tore the old seat down, wire brushed everything, primed and painted. No broken springs, which was super surprising! When putting it all back together, I laid a piece of thin carpet down on the springs to take the place of the old wired burlap. That seemed to help with spreading the weight across all the springs. The other nice thing about the new cover is that it has a really nice piece of foam attached to the underside. Really helped with comfort!
The carpet is the ACC brand from Rock Auto. Also good quality. I was also considering the black floormat, but am glad I went with the red carpet.
I just went through a similar interior remodel. I installed the ACC vinyl floor mat - I wanted a sweep-out interior. Nice material, but I had fitment problems because my tunnel cover is non-stock (I learned). I switched to the ACC 80-20 carpet (same fit but more easily modified). The carpet makes the cab much quieter - sucking up the noise bouncing around inside, rather than reflecting it. I'd recommend carpet for that reason.
Completely agree on the sound in the cab after carpet and sound deadener under it. I wasn’t even sure the truck was running properly because I was so used to hearing every noise without it 😂.
Looks sharp. If I ever start working on my '63 F250 again, my interior color scheme will be very similar. I'll definitely check out the ACC carpet when I order mine. I bought my truck in pieces and it came without a seat or tracks. I found a set of seat tracks on Ebay and I'm using a rear bench seat with the fold down arm rest out of a 2001 Super Duty. We will see how it turns out. Hopefully it works.
