I can't seem to search this forum specifically for compatible years of Ford truck frames that will work with my 1950 F1.
If memory serves , the years 57 to 71 should have frame width and wheelbase that is compatible to 1950 F1.
I have been considering getting my truck ride height closer to stock height, almost immediately after installing the Mustang II crossmember, in 2005.
I can deal with fabricating cab mounts etc to make it work.
Can someone point me to a link on this forum?
Thanks,
Tom.
48-52 are all the same. What makes them unique from newer frames is the rails from the cab forward pinches in to 32" from 34" at the back half. Starting in 53, and going to 72, the frames are 34" all the way from one end to the other. This makes fitting of sheet metal a bit more difficult. The farther you stray from 48-52, the harder it will be to locate the core support and front sheet metal in relation to the cab without reinventing the wheel.
Here is an option that my save you bucks and get you closer to the ride height. Fatman's Fabrications make a spindle that raises the ride height. Seeing as you already have a cross member installed this may be the answer https://www.fatmanfab.com/product/op...ub-to-hub-kits

I knew there are some challenges, thanks for the info. Something to chew on.
Tom,
I think you just get another truck and start from scratch. That way, you'll have a matching set. A man can't have too many old Ford trucks
LOL
Thanks Bobby, I hope the new place that I would have to live in has a big, warm shop with it. Lol. So far my search has only come up with gold plated frames, very high priced.
