What are these for?

I've got 2 cabs. Both are 49. 1 has them, the other doesn't. Cab that dos didn't have a windshield when I got it. Cab that doesn't has a windshield and I can't see a problem.

They are windshield retaining clips, designed to make installation of glass a nightmare. Usually removed by this time. I think the factory quit putting them on in '50 or '51.

As Ross said, good for breaking factory original windshield.

They serve no purpose. If you read the shop manual it says to cut them out if installing the stainless trim. The stainless windshield trim does absolutely nothing to hold the windshield in. I grind them off in my trucks.
