Repairing that moulding rubber will not do you any good, that is an urethane glued in windshield so without it being resealed it will continue to leak regardless of the moulding. Some glass shops will re-glue the windshield if the glass is good. You will have to ask around.
Last time I had my windshield replaced I told the Safelite guy about the propensity of these trucks to leak water onto the GEM and ask that he use sealant. He did and 5 years later I don’t have any leaks. The windshield did crack again so I need to get it replaced again and hope the next repairman will do the same with the extra sealant. As for the moulding peeling up from the heat, I’m not sure If the windshield shop will replace it but mine is doing the exact same thing and I need to replace it.
