I have a 1974 F250 with the 100mph speedo and all gauges (no dummy lights). I recently found an immaculate cluster from a 1979 F350 with the same setup (except 80 mph speedo) in a junkyard, and was wondering if I could use it in my truck
The printed circuit boards are a different color, but everything else is same setup
If it won’t work, anybody got a good 1974 gauge cluster they want to trade?
Even if it won’t work, it was too nice to let it get crushed
Your 100 MPH cluster has the high beam light in a different place, & no fasten belts light. The added circuits required a different PC & plug.
I doubt the 85 MPH cluster would plug in to your harness.
The speedo would work fine with no changes.
I have a very nice 1973 cluster with gauges, but even that may be different than your 1974. We would have to compare the numbers on the back of the PC's & see if they are the same

Well, I had my really nice 100 MPH cluster listed on eBay, & it sold this morning. So, that option isn't available.
I do have lots of parts for these clusters, & have restored dozens of them. I may be able to put together something for you, or I may have the parts & advice to get your current cluster working for you. Let me know if I can help in any way.
The number one problem with these clusters is the backing that crumbles & falls apart. Followed by bad PC's. Gauges are usually good, speedos are pretty reliable. The cluster voltage regulators are usually good. Bulbs & bulb holders are often bad & need to be replaced or cleaned.
