Rust Repair
I've got some rust on the door pillars of my 96 Ranger. It's the edge where the door insulation mounts. It's the flat edge that is rusted. Part of it is gone. I'd appreciate any ideas on how to fix it. I took it to the body shop. One wouldnt fix it and the other said they could, but didn't sound too convincing. They said they could do something with it. I'm thinking I may have to do this myself. I'm not a welder but I think adding metal via a weld would he the best choice. Thoughts?
Thanks Butch.

The rust isn't a s bad as I thought. I've really got to figure out how to stop it so it doesn't return
I'm including a pic of the rust. I'm wondering if I can repair it with bondo or is there something better? I thought about maybe using brazing rods to build it back to the original shape. It's just the flange that the weatherstrip goes on. The door pillar itself is structurally sound. I suspect it's too small a job for the body shop to mess with. The place that said they could something with it was charging about $250. The other place wanted over $1000 to fix the other side which is much smaller that the side in the pic.
