2019 6.2 Hard start

Late last summer when heat was higher, after sitting for several hours, truck struggled to start. Sounds like hard sucking air sound and takes longer to start. Cold temps, never an issue. Temps rising in Ga and has done it once already. What could be causing this hard start?

2019 F250 6.2 Gas burner. 40k miles.

In summary Fuel pump assembly needs replacing. Somewhat of a common issue. Hopefully you have a dealer that recognizes it and knows how to reproduce it or test for it.

I would just like to add that I have had this problem since the truck was almost new, and had it to the dealer multiple times. The dealer claims they can't reproduce it, yet it does it daily for me. However, when I asked them about the fuel pump they said that's not an issue with 48 gallon fuel tanks, which I have being a long bed. When I looked this up in mid-2019, the part numbers were indeed different for the smaller vs larger tank fuel pumps. I don't know if that has changed since then, but I have given up trying to get it fixed as I am out of warranty and buying a new truck anyway. Just wanted it to be known that it may not be the same story if the OP has a 48 gallon tank.
