6.0 leaking coolant only when driving
My 2007 6.0 leaks coolant only when driving. I , William Terry have posted info on it as I got it. I am not a computer geek so please bare with me. Having trouble navigating through this, and other forums. I hope I started this "Thread" Correctly. Any way I will do the test recommended and post them as I do them. Thanks to every one for the advice I have received and will receive. WRT

Tee into the vapor line from the radiator to the degas bottle and install a gauge (do not cut the vapor line, just add a tee and small segment of hose). You can install another fitting on another tee onto the other vapor line so that you can add air to pressure it up. You can even install a schrader valve so you can add air, AND measure the pressure from the same fitting - like you do with your tires. Just buy a pressure gauge that is 0-20 psig because all you need is 12-15 psig (the degas cap will vent around 15 psig). Then do a quick test to verify the gauge is accurate (you can verify accuracy in any one of several ways - I have found that the electronic tire pressure sensors on the wife's cars are pretty accurate and can verify any new pressure gauge I get against those sensor readings). It is not hard at all to find a tire pressure gauge that is accurate to 1 or 2 psi .... which is all you need. Just keep the receipt and go back for a new one if you just happen to buy one that is way off. Again - just like you would when properly maintaining tire pressure (which is a more critical service than the degas pressure test).
