Some of the work that I have done over the last 9 months

Engine bay as purchased

Changed steering gear box, cleaned wiring up (PO used lots of spare yellow wiring).
Changed out the water pump as a fan bolt snapped, changed fuel pump

New belts, hoses, the usual suspects, solenoid, ignition box, battery cables, new battery.
Just general all around clean up as I believe the PO had the steering leak for quite some time and just kept topping off so the cast off was everywhere. Good news was no rust until the bed.

As sits now, a small leak from the passenger side valve cover dripping on the manifold. easy fix

Brakes were next, Drums were decent, still had over 50% life on them and no grooves in the drum surface so just cleaned up and will be a future project.

Front discs were a different story, needed to replace all of it.

After

Also bent and replaced all lines

I used the copper-Nickle line and then had the coil spring on the outside for added protection for any areas it could rub. The coil spring allowed for easy bending. Basically just taped it to the old line every couple inches and bent where required

Yeah I used the CopNickle as well and it’s easy to work with, just couldn’t make it all nice and pretty, but works better that the old stuff! I’ll keep the above in mind if I need to do anymore. Where did you get the coil spring?

While cleaning up the underside I noticed a hole in my Axle which looks like the PO carved in with a grinder for some reason.

Patched it up and will keep an eye on it

Also refurbished my exhaust as from the muffler back was roached. Put in a flowmaster 50 which sounds pretty good for a single exhaust

Original Interior was beige and was very dirty, worn and cracked

Under the panels was a lot of old silicone and sealant, made sure it was cleaned up.

New speakers, new window regulators and new Door panels

Next up was the headliner, pressboard had seen better days but all the trim was there

Painted the trim and started sewing up my fabric. Truck will eventually be in the "orange" category as far as color. In order to get the stitches perfect in length I had to go very slow, each line took 5 minutes

Glued down to 1/8" fibre board

Sewed in a pocket to stash a few emergency dollars in or sunglasses. Also added so decorations

Cleaned up the metal and installed some sound/heat shield

You can see in the last pic, used ratchet straps to keep new panel close to where i needed it. Went in ok, but when i looked at the clock once finished realized it was 4 hours to install. Not the easiest one man job

Ended up getting the look I was going for so over all pretty pleased

Still not settled on a definitive plan for the seat so for now just wanted to put a seat cover on that stayed in place

Sewed in webbing with velcro to tighten up the cover, doesnt move at all now

Its so tight I can barely fold it, but then all i have back there is the stereo box I built for my speakers and amp

Also put down the carpet shown in the last photo. NOS reproductions in Canada, had the heat shield and sound proofing built right in. Was an awesome buy!

Changed out the steering wheel

as I am too tall and the old stock wheel made driving uncomfortable

Did a late night parking lot swap of the beds. I had bought the utility trailer for 200, swapped the beds and sold the "new"" rusty utility trailer for 450. No its officially a two tone
