The old fuel filter in the engine baby was a bit difficult to remove. I made sure to check that there was no band clamp to loosen.
I did apply a dab of grease on the outside of the engine bay fuel filter to help get it in but still had to use a rubber mallet to slightly tap it down before turning it to lock it in.
I think from now on I will only buy oil and fuel filters from the dealer.
I went thru the same thing changing filters the last time. I had 2 new sets on hand one from Amazon and 1 set from O'Rileys . The Amazon engine filter was like your replacement. Didn't want to fit into the bracket. I had the 2nd set so used that filter and it went into place like the one I took out. Thinking maybe china knockoff but not for sure on the Amazon one

Thanks for the video. I did shine a light around the fuel filter housing and didn't see a band clamp bolt to loosen but I'm going to check again just to make sure.

I'm wondering if I should buy another engine bay fuel filter and just change it out again?

if there is a chance you have counterfeit, I'd probably change both out.. fit is likely not the only shortcoming....

I had exactly the same issue with my last fuel filter change and it was purchased from my Ford workshop, I sanded down outside of filter housing with my sander as it was jamming before being fully inserted in housing and was afraid to brake something. I believe that there may have been som quality issues or Ford got som supplies from a different supplier.

Just dealt with the same issue last month when changing mine. My filters were from diesel filters online. Been getting all my filters from them for years for my 6.0 and now the 6.7 never had an issue before.
