351M throttle cable problem
I have a problem with a 351M throttle cable. I have an issue keeping the end of the cable on my carb. I have a 600 Holley carb with factory style cable. It pops off the ball on the carb every so often. I’ve replaced the ball and cable, but still have the problem. I also installed a throttle cable bracket instead of just using the factory set up. I’ve tried putting more tension on the clip on the cable, but it’ll still pop off. It doesn’t do it all the time, but it’s annoying when it happens ( usually the most inconvenient time). Any help or thoughts appreciated.

Sounds like the spring clip that snaps over the ball may be the wrong size for the ball. If the cable you have is aftermarket it may be metric. I used an aftermarket cable and had to use the clip from the old Ford cable.
