right, and FWIW if you happen to see 4 digits in the DOT code, it means that it's from 1999 or older
This is not correct. There is a four digit DOT date stamp on all newly manufactured DOT approved tires with the first two digits being the week and the last two digits being the year of manufacture. The date stamp may only be on one side of the tire. There are other DOT numbers and letters preceding the date stamp that indicate identifiers such as tire plant location and manufacturer. The date stamp usually is the last four digits and separated from the other four digit series. For example, I have a tire stamped “0120” meaning it was manufactured the first week of 2020.

No disrespect intended, after I posted I realized flat out saying you were wrong was a little strong. I hope there are no hard feelings. Correct me any time as I am prone to mistakes often.
Have have always been a big fan of the BFG KO2's but, they did not do well on my F250. I had them in the stock 20" size and although they provided good traction, they made for a horrible ride. Ran Copper AT3's on my wife's Grand Cherokee and had 40k trouble free miles out of them with plenty of tread left before we traded the Jeep in. Snow and wet performance was solid and they were nice and quiet on the Highway. I dropped the KO2's after 10k miles on the F250 and am now running the AT3's on it (dropped to 18's for more sidewall). Huge difference over the KO2's. Smooth and quiet ride so far. Very happy with this tire.
