Is the first they they teach at a dealership service department. Can’t duplicate problems at this time.
that’s it we are done. Nothing we can do. Ford customer satisfaction not at all. What’s bad is when I do take to them
I tell them exactly what is wrong Even bring in the tsb with everything need to tell them what and how to repair.
Sounds like you are having a bad experience with having something repaired. In general, most Dealerships don't like being told what to do . If I were you, and not knowing your problem, I would seek another Dealership and a different approach. Good luck, you are not alone.
Not gonna lie, some dealers are crappy. Really crappy. It is like this across all brands.
That said, if you're having a bad go with this dealer, I'd head off to another one, go in with a description of the problem, see if the writer or a tech will go with you on a ride if it's a noise or action you can point out. Whatever you do, unless it's a recall for a major issue, it's not a good idea to go in saying 'here's my problem, here's a TSB on it, fix it.' Why? Because 1. you may not be right and 2. many of these guys have been doing this stuff for years and are going to find that TSB really quick anyway.
However, I have found that the Ford Reps tend to side with the Dealership in most issues.
Two reasons I can think of:
They deal with crappy customers all the time.
The Dealership actually buys more from Ford in a day than you do in a lifetime.
I did get a response from Ford on a negative survey I gave a Dealership.
They asked if the Dealership had contacted me.
I replied no.
No more contact from either one.
Try a small town dealership. Big city mega dealers with multiple franchises just have a service department as a necessary evil, they want a high volume of sales and don't really care if they lose a possible repeat customer because of poor after sale service. The small town guys have a very limited pool of potential customers and have to keep them happy to stay in business.
I can see not being able to recreate the iwe problem.this a know issue an not the first time. It has done it
on this truck. So I knew what it was. I understand very well about not liking told how to do there job I don’t.
To be dismissed an given a attitude by the service rep. (Not first time either different dealers) an trying deferent dealer
This is better one around me one of the reasons that myself and family has purchased 17 vehicles in the last 20 years.
i also know that a lot of us have dealt with this for years. So I am just bitching to share. Thank you all for your reply’s
an wisdom. I love my truck an a lifetime Ford owner my first truck was a Ford an it’s still in yard 32 years later.
thanks again
If you are taken it to the dealer and it is working, what do you expect them to do? I deal with this all the time on the medical side of things, think life saving equipment. If I can not see the problem or find a problem I will not replace a part.
First off if it working when I get there what changed from when it was not?
There maybe a TSB on it, but they are normally just aids in troubleshooting problems that are not normal
I have stayed in the ward for almost two days and did not see a problem. After I left the problem never came back
The trick is to bring it to the dealer when it is broke. Just drive there and have a SW walk out with you to see the issue. Don't call and say I have a problem and make an appointment unless it is doing it all the time.
Intermittent problems are a pain no matter what field you are in. Just because there is a TSB from Ford does not mean you have a vehicle with the issue. You have to prove you have the issue so the dealer will get paid from Ford for doing the repair.
If you video your problem and show it to the SW or better yet figure out the exact conditions that cause it so you can show the SW will get you much further.
With out knowing your issues with the truck and which TSB your wanting done, it is really hard to say what could or should be done.
I had a mirror problem that was intermittent. I was able to record it on my phone, took it to my dealer. They called up one of the Mechanics/Techs I showed it to them, parts were ordered and installed. Now the other side has started doing the same thing. When I just walk up to the truck even if I was the last driver, the mirror drives in till it its the stop and starts popping. Maybe 2-3 times a week. Doesn't matter if I remote start or not. I am going to call them, I may not have to record it again.

I had the same experience with my last truck, a 2017 Chevy Silverado. Issues from a month after I got the truck...used. Same story. "We can't duplicate the issues, can't find anything wrong". Finally got tired of it and came back to Ford. Hopefully this 2020 F150 won't do me the same way.
