I recently had my truck on at the dealership to fix something and they didn't fix it. I found what sounds like my same problem in a TSB. My question is, how do they work? Is it something that they should do for free? Do I just print out the TSB and take it to the dealership the next time I go? I would assume it's something they should have investigated the first time...maybe not?
Print it out and politely ask the service writer if it applies to your truck. TSBs are not recalls. They are instructions for the repair of known problems. If the problem is outside of the warranty then you still have to pay.
Well about a month ago I noticed that if I coast down to about 30mph and then back in the gas that it hesitates before it takes off, it never hesitates from a stop or it never does it at higher speeds, just around 30mph. It also has be idling down at like 500rpm, before it was 700-800rpm. I took it to the dealership and they thought it was just a dirty throttle body, they cleaned it, and changed my fuel filter, but I still have the problem. Next time I'm gonna get a technician to ride with me so I can show him exactly what it's doing (even though I already told them how to reproduce the problem) My truck is a '06 with a 5.4 and 76,000 miles. This is the TSB I found 2006 FORD F-150 TSB's (technical service bulletins)
I'm a little new when it comes to these TSB's. How do you know when it doesn"t exist anymore? Is the 8-18-2 a new one.....I couldn't find it in the list?
