I was just wondering if you guys know of a good key fob for our trucks? The ones that came with my truck when I bought it are aftermarket and you have to be within 10 to 15 ft from the truck in order for it to work. Does this seem normal to you guys? Is there any way to improve the distance?
Get some generic $3 ones off Amazon/ebay and do the simple reprogramming on them. I got some years ago, work from at least 30-40 to about 100 foot depending on battery freshness. 10 foot you mentioned is horrible, our truck beds are nearly that long.
It's nearly cheaper to buy new ones than buy new batteries. Plus the lock unlock graphic wears off after 5 or 6 years of use and I'm having to tell wife, well if it doesn't unlock when you push the one button................ Push the other one

Hahahaha I could definitely see my wife having the same problem. I thought maybe that was the problem, these remotes were the el cheapos, but you seem to have good luck with them, I will try out another set. Thanks Wes
I've had similar results as Wesley. Bought two elcheapo FOB's many years ago and programmed them via the instructions Brian42 detailed for us. They work well past the 15 feet or so you describe.
I say a good 50 feet away is average, sometimes more and sometimes less depending on the immediate environment.
From China and not sure on the range, but an option to think about maybe. Where the key ring lives looks more stout from pics anyhow. I've had a few break on me there at the eyelet over the years.

Thank you, Yes mine broke at the key ring eyelet so that's why I was hoping to find a better one 👍
Perfect thank you Sous, I was going to go poking around in the tech folder for the instructions but this makes it much easier. I will try a different set of el cheapos 🤠, thanks again
