I'm working on a turbo build, and I'm looking for inspiration/ideas/options for intercooler mounting, especially if you have an AC condenser worked into your stack too.
Thanks!

Reason: speling is hard
Not sure if I could fit one any bigger in there. It took some trimming to make this one fit. No a/c stuff in this truck but there was enough space behind it that I put the trans cooler between the rad and the intercooler.

Bad frickin ***! That's pretty much what I want to do with my stock efi 460.. well, get it running first, but the plan is to turbo it.. if I may ask, where did you get the intercooler? I had thought about using a super duty 7.3 intercooler, as it's a similar size to what yours is..
There are several 460 builds over there. Check em out.
Very nice! I have actually found your thread when you originally setup the 36-1 wheel, and have referenced it before.. I plan to do LS coils before I turbo my motor.. I'm gonna use the TFI to get it running, and sorted out, figured that simplicity would be good at first..
Definitely looks like way more room in there with the inserts out, and when just looking at the front. I went and was measuring on my truck and there's next to room back there without cutting the inserts, which I think I saw you ended up doing.

That may be the way I have to go, to get my condenser in there too.
Another thing I had thought about - but I'm not sure is a good idea - sliding the radiator closer to the engine. I'm going to be switching to electric fans, and could in theory get a couple more inches of room depending on the rad thickness and fan depth.
Look at guys doing cummins swaps for how they fit them. The 6.0 intercooler is a good choice. It's all aluminum and fits the width of the radiator and rad. support nicely, the outlets pretty much sit on top of the frame rails. There's some trimming of the hood latch bracket and the back of the grill to get it to fit, but it doesn't look all that bad. I found one for $75 at a local junkyard through car-parts.com, that beats any aftermarket IC price.
Anything is possible with enough trimming. there is quite a bit of room on the outside on the rad support in between the support and grill. Not the greatest pics but this is a stock 1996 cummins rad and intercooler in a 79.
