about how much power differance would there be between a ab inj and a ac inj with both being on a dp tuner // early 99 stock turbo (for now) , stock hpop , 6637 , 4in mbrp single cat delete , fuel x , im wondering if worth it as i will be replacing all inj and still deciding. was thinking hybrids but seems like i need to much supporting stuff turbo ect... thanks wes
Stock AB's 280-300 RWHP
AC's will be in the 370-380 range pretty easy.
thanks cody , im trying to get the most bang for the buck but keeping an ultra reliable daily driver. so i was thinking a new ac . i got 270k on my originals now so if i can get that out of a set of ac inj i would be happy.im surprized your the only opinion i thought more people would have done this.

Hey Wes yes it's funny but Cody has been preaching the AC deal as long as I've known him. I like you am most interested in the longevity so I'm pretty sure that's what I'm gonna go with when $$ allow. I really want to get some #'s on my hpop to see if a fresh pump might need to go along with the inj...
yea cj, i got a hpop gauge in my truck now and im cruising at 1000 psi max is 3100 seems ok i need my scanner to look at the % and i thought the ac's will be less oil hungry . but if needed probably a t500 from clay . my truck runs good i just know im getting long in tooth with some stuff .
I hear ya Wes, mine still runs pretty good also but it's bumping 200k & will romp a little when cold so I'm thinking the inj are getting tired. I'm gonna pass by a buddy's place this afternoon & hopefully he will hook up his AE & we can blast down the road a little & see where my hpop #'s are.

mine got to where it wouldn't start unless plugged in last year thats when i came here to start learning this motor and since i did the ucvh's / 50 cent mod / all eight glow plugs (seven were bad) she fires right up now plugged in or not . even after being parked 3-4 days in the 20s .
Oh mine will start in the teens easy enough, just romp a little..lol & I've only plugged the heater 1 time to see if it worked. The reason I think an inj is sticking a little is last winter I put some Rev-X in & it would not romp at all. The 6.0 guys were having good results with that stuff & sticky inj probs so I gave it a try, I thought it was probably some kinda snake oil but I'll have to say it def did something.
the only thing i noticed was a stumble at idle but it seems that the oil x and the black cps have fixed it ive never touched my injectors yet.except to torque em down.
So I just stumbled across the AC stocks that are offered on RiffRaff. I couldn't believe that for $125.00 we can get 160cc single shots!! 60 to 80 hp gain sounds like a steal for that price. Sure enough, I did a search and came across this thread.
Similar to Wes on his original post, I am running an E99 turbo, 4" turbo back exhaust, 6637, stock HPOP, and the split shot e99 injectors, and a John Wood Valve body. The stock HPOP should handle them just fine dont you think? I will need have jody re-tune my F5 wont I ? If I do, I'll have him put the 140 tune on while he's at it . And fix my no start tune. It has never worked for some reason....
I am definately wanting to jump on this. As previously said, I'm surprised more people havent done this. Especially because if I ever do decide to go to some 238/100 hybrids, I can have a set of inj's to send in so I dont get core charged for $800-$1,000. I dont think my injectors are super tired, but im sure that switching from 130cc split shots that are 173k miles old to rebuilt 160cc single shots will be a very noticable difference.
funny you guys brought this thread up from the past i haven't been here in a while since irene hit my house with 6 ft of water but anyway i am doing alot of the work on it and have been able to save some $ . my inj are dieing and leaking but with nearly 300k i cant complain ,and just ordered new acs / a late conv kit with 38r and up pipes & ebpv delete / a dp tuner / and a 4in mbrp / t500 / and on my bench already new oil lines / icp / ipr / inj cups. (cause i ran the wrong coolant for 8 months) / fuel x over / man i cant wait ive driven this truck stock for 13 years now . was thinking maybe a qssb and bigger acs but after talking to clay that's what ive gone with i want ultra reliability another 300k and maybe just a little power to boot.thanks all here who helped me realize what i wanted to do.and thanks to clay
