Finding the original EEC/PCM

Hello, hoping you can help me find the original part # and calibration code for my truck.
it is a 1988 F250 inline 6 cylinder with the manual ZF5 5 speed 4x4 transmission .
At some point the original unit was changed and the door sticker scratched out.
since I am looking to get a spare I would really like to know what was in place when it was built.
If anyone has a similar truck could you post the part # and calibration code. That would be helpful
in my search for a spare.

Call Cardone and give them the truck specific information. They can give you the part number for their PCM that you need.

I know somewhere in my collection of ECM's I have one from that exact combo. Truck was parted out and is long gone, so sorry, but no help with #'s.

I did contact Cardone and this was their reply We do not supply our products directly to the consumer however you can find a supplier by visiting us at https://www.cardone.com.

I would send a PM to number dummy and ask him but he has opted to not
accepts them.

That is weird. A Ford dealership should be able to provide it for you l would think.

PITA, but you could attempt to see label on PCM, without removing, and take pic, and then look up that # and see if it correlates, to what you need, O'reillys, has Cardon, and show 15 possibilities, with manual, non California emissions. link shows what your looking for below

I think you missed my point. I am trying to establish what was in the truck when it was built.
Thanks for the link to the FI tech library. It is puzzling that the code off the unit that is in my
truck at the moment ( 8TE) is not listed.

Based on your old thread the PCM in the truck right now is a replacement as you stated: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1543912-eec-pcm.html

If the current 8TE code PCM is running the truck fine then just get another one.

The Calibration Code you listed in the other thread breaks down to this information Subford posted

If you look at sticker on PCM, and take pic of it, you can see if it has the one subford posted, going off your other thread. It could have a 4.9L, C6 trans, PCM, and run truck, instead of manual.

example of what your looking for, blue circle

yours should have this on it, red circle

Oreillys, says manual, not auto
