Yep, up on deck again is my right hand door actuator. I bought what I thought would be a good replacement a few years ago (forget how many) and it's gone belly up on me. I seem to think it was Airtex. I'm looking and don't see anything in particular that's calling my name so what's the current go-to on them these days? I see plenty of 'direct replacement' versions on fleabay, complete with Ford packaging and logo but the description indicates they are knock-offs.
I went through Tasca when I needed genuine door actuator and associated components when the rear doors on my super cab needed attention. Years later, maybe as many as your years, they are solid and provide positive feedback when opening or closing.
I had trouble finding them, so a call to Tasca identified the proper part numbers in just a few moments.

Thanks, I checked on one site that I have bookmarked, think it's Auto Nation Ford. The one thing that gets me with them is the shipping is a killer. I'll try my local Ford stealership and see what they tell me and compare it to Tasca.
Thanks for that link too. Why do those companies conceal their locations? I looked all over that site to see where they were and couldn't find it. The way USPS has been lately I avoid shipping through them unless the company is in an adjacent state (not that that always solves the problem) but the cost to ship UPS vs USPS is prohibitive.

Your 100% right, the shipping is ridiculous...
The Ford dealer closest to us is in the next town over and I would rather pay the shipping charges from Tasca or another helpful source than to give that dealer even one penny. You are lucky to have a decent dealer and asking about price matching is a good idea.
Is the actuator just twitching the lock without enough power to actually lock/unlock it? The thermistor inside the motor has gone bad. Open it up and do the penny mod. I did that to mine when I first bought the truck and they have been going strong since.

Mine are going strong 10 years later doing the same mod. Was going to suggest it as well but he has already replaced the original with an aftermarket.

It just doesn't do anything and I did perform that on the first one and it was short-lived.
I just purchased a right side actuator from these folks. Looked like the packaging was N.O.S Ford. Is there a tech tip on gaining access to the actuator? I ended up taking mine to my buddies body shop and getting him to change it out.

Not a hard job at all. I've replaced three out of the four on my 2001. It's also a good opportunity to clean behind inner door panel too! Bucket of water and a rag...maybe an air compressor if ya have one.
