99 ford explorer another electrical problem: The front passanger door lock does not work, When I activate the master door lock button all work except that one. Lock manually works. Is this fixable or do I have to buy new components. Is this an expensive dealer part only. How is door panel removed I see no screws. does it just pull off?
When I replaced my lock actuators in my Excursion, I was directed to fordpartsonline.com. They had the best price. I found the lock actuators for your truck for around $63. Here is the link: http://www.parts.com/partlocator/ind...99&catalogid=1. I found it under Electrical/Body Electrical/Front Door/Lock Actuator.
I can tell you I found detailed directions for the replacement procedure in the Excursion forum. Pictures, directions, everything. And, though it appeared complicated, once you do one, the rest are easy. The whole actuator just comes out and you replace it with a new, hopefully better one. I understand it was quite a problem with my truck. Not sure if it is as rampant in Explorers, but the new ones works great and I saved lots of cash doing it myself.
