Right now I'm just tracking to track down diagrams for the vacuum hoses and any electrics for the hei distributor swap.

That is on my NP435 transmission and to tell the truth I kind of like the T18 better, truck came with the T18 but was bad and why the swap.
I had to heat and bend it to clear the seat because I have the Advance Adaptor over drive unit in front of the transmission and the NP435 got pushed back 7-1/2"
I know the stick would clear the seat if it was in the normal spot as it did in the truck it came from.
Because its pushed back and the bends the stick is a little taller than it would be and you feel it the first few times you drive the truck but I don't even feel that now.

The other straighter stick is for the over drive and I also bent that to end out where I wanted it.

ps: you cant swap sticks because they attach to the tower differently.
Guess you could cut & weld them to get what you want?

A lot depends on if the truck needs to go through smog?
If not then most of the vacuum lines and what they connect to can be removed.
Should only need vacuum to power brakes, dist. for advance, HVAC, PVC and maybe transmission.

If you do a search you should be able to find what color wire you need to power the HEI dist. from the factory wiring over on the left inner fender IIRC.

Feed the HEI with a white/lightblue wire.

I'm guessing the smog thing is state to state? And as far as hvac, it ain't got it. The blower motor and heater core are melted against the firewall and I dont feel like sourcing a new compressor atm. As far as factory wires go. There aren't really any salvageable ones left.
