I read on another forum that replacing the driver's side fuel rail might solve my problem, but no reason was given as to why. I looked this part up , and it looks like an OEM replacement is less than $200. https://www.getoemparts.com/oem-part...EaApiPEALw_wcB

Do you think replacing the fuel rail is worth a shot? What would go wrong on a fuel rail, and why the driver's side specifically?

I did have the fuel filter changed right before this problem started happening. Do you think swapping a fuel filter again would be a good course of action?
It can be either or both rails, the driver side is more common because it has an extra orifice or to for balancing fuel between the banks, the passenger rail has them too just not as many. I am not sure if there is a way to diagnose them other than to replace and see if the issues clear up. If there is a way to diagnose them I would like to know how.

If that's the case, and you're talking balancing between the two rails, wouldn't that be pressure and wouldn't that throw a code?

One would think, but from what I have read/seen and discussed, the rails can cause a variety of intermittent and constant weirdness.

I'm thinking I remember a recent thread where a truck had issues and it turned out to be the driver's side fuel rail. And I believe he didn't replace it after having a CP4 go out if anyone else remembers that.
