No, I didn't have to. The tint was done shortly after the new truck delivery. The new truck sticker is good for 2 years. Also the state has a temporary waiver on registration due to covid so it has been 2+ years and it's the first inspection.

I guess I didn't make it clear of the history in the original post. When I got the truck tinted, I originally didn't want an eyebrow tint because I never had one before. But the shop convinced me with a good combo deal. And I asked them to do everything according to the state law. When it was done, I immediately noticed and pointed out the brow tint came down low. They explained it's due to the curve of the windshield and they do this all the time. My mistake is I did not look into the state tint requirement on the brow at the moment. They are not a small shop and tint a lot of cars everyday. So I took their words and moved on. When I found out the failed inspection and researched the state tint law couple days ago, I was pissed but I guess lessons learned.

I just talked to a different tint shop that also does state inspection. They will remove the brow tint for me ($60 labor) and do the inspection. So yeah no more brow tint for me.

Awww you gonna need that tint in Texas sun
I would go back to other place and have them either remove it or fix it.
This made me want to have the tint but obviously not that far down

Glad they stopped that “revenue generator” in our state a few years back.

Whats your reason for not wanting to go back to the originall shop? This stuff is so dang easy for them that I can't imagine them not helping you out, for free. Probably take them 20 min to get you in and out, fixed.
I'm sure they would understand.
