REPLACING OIL FILTER

Hi all i have a 05 f 350 6.0 4wd and I changed my oil and filter today and i can not get the spring to collapse enough to get the cap to screw down. i have watched
a few videos and i dont think i should have to push down on the cap that much to get it to close. is there something i didnt do right? please help. thanks.

Aftermarket cap? Aftermarket filter? Aftermarket plastic "adapter" (or insert) on top of the filter standpipe?

If you do not know the answer to the questions above, then take a picture of the components mentioned above (cap, filter, and filter standpipe). Post the pictures (or links to the pictures).

Moto only or you'll end up losing an engine.

This is one engine you would be better served to use factory filters. They are not that expensive. B.

They got there answer, run to the auto parts and bought the parts. No need for FTE after that. Sad but true.
