Transmission Problems
Can an MLPS switch cause a Transmission from going into reverse mode if it's bad? Recently took a 4.6 from a 97 F-150 2 wheel drive motor and put it in a 2000 F-150 4x4 and got a wore harness for it and hooked everything back up to the stock requirements. The original motor that was in this truck had a broken intake valve on the #8 cylinder and dropped valve through the top of the piston causing us to do an engine swap. The transmission was working fine for 2 days and then went to put it into reverse and there wasn't one. Now we put it into reverse and it wants to still go forward is there something wrong with the transmission or is it a computer issue? The Transmission is a 4R70W stock transmission for this truck.

No, it cannot. NOTHING electrical can cause no reverse. That has to be a mechanical problem in the transmission.
