Changes to 2021

Forgive me if this has been asked before. I've been driving my 2021 f450 for 2 weeks now. Came from a 2017 f350 dually. On the drivers display, mine shows PRNDM. My 2017 went to PRNDM12. Also, the gears are displayed 1 thru 10. On the 2017, I had to hit a switch on the shifter to havethe gears displayed. I know this is in the manual but it is 400+ pages

They got away form the 1 and 2 on the shifter, and I believe you can still shut the gears 1 thru 10 off the same way you do on the 17. At least you can on my 19.

Sorry I didn't use question marks instead of periods. Just curious why the changes were made?
